Imagine My Surprise Box

Creative Classes In Paper

Presented by Suzanne Glazier of Pennywise Arts

clip_image002

I’m sure you can imagine that I do a lot of shipping.  To make sure that orders get to their destination in good shape, I use A LOT of packing tape! For years, I have saved the cardboard cores from the tape rolls knowing that they would be great for "something" some day. I do save O'So Sticky Tape rolls too, I just don't go through that as quickly.

Created from scratch (and packing tape cores) this interactive pop up box can be personalized for any greeting, name or power Imagineboxword that students desire.

Actual colors may vary from photo. Allow 2.5 hours to complete.  Price $25 with 5 student minimum.

Students may pre order additional kits to take home for $10 each.

Let your favorite stamp stores know you would like to have me come teach, I’d love to see you!

If you bring a friend to my North Bend, WA studio for a class the 5 student minimum is waived.

Hugs, Suzanne

P.S. Mail order students need to have adhesive to assemble the box.  Please specify your word/name/greeting when placing an order.   Color requests are welcome and will be met whenever possible.  Current marbled paper options are shown.

They have fancy schmancy names but for simplicity we’ll call them from left to right:

1. burgandy/blue/gold     2. blue/gold     3. lime/copper (shown in example above)     4. rust/denim     5. purple/gold

All parts, pieces and detailed instructions are included in the class packet. Shipping is additional. $25 for the first kit and $10 for each kit thereafter on the same invoice.  Allow one week processing.  Contact me directly to place a class by mail order.  These are not offered on the website.

Berries Fresh From The Garden

This special project was hand picked by designer Michelle McCarthy.  It might look like a simple crate but just you wait!

Strawberry Box By Michelle Mc

Inside is a fun berry surprise!

The sides of the box fold down and are embellished with stamped scenes and quotes as well as tags, micro beads, ribbon, fiber and brads.  In the middle of the box is another little box that holds the handmade strawberry boxes.

The micro bead exteriors make the berries look morning fresh picked with a bit of dew still on them.  Yum!

Will Spring Ever Get Here?

I keep waiting for spring to show up to share this beautiful daisy box from PWA designer Michelle McCarthy.  Now I think maybe DSCF4415Spring is just waiting for me to share it so it can show up!

I’ll let Michelle tell you about it in her own words.

“Here's a simple box I put together using a mix of Green, Black and Gold micro beads and the new Iridescent Bubble Beads.”

DSCF4414

I started with a dollar store find of two boxes with two drawers each and glued them together to form the four drawer box.  After adding the varied papers and a tiny bit of stamping, I edged all the side edges of the box with the mix of beads.  For the drawer faces, I just glued ribbon down  on paper and then cut to size of the drawer front.  Bubble beads for the centers of the daisies were tacked down with Crystal Effects.  I added a couple silk daisies and a ribbon and called it good.

Michelle, I should say “good” is better than good here!  Thanks for the great contribution this month!

Love Inside

It is such a treat to share amazing artwork with you from our design team each week!  They are an inspirational group of gals that inspire me over and over again.  I always look forward to what surprises will arrive in the mail.  Ü

This decorated tin by Jennifer Toussaint really got me drooling (and I’m sure it has nothing to do with the dark chocolate she sent with it… Naw, nothing.) Box Of Love Clip

In addition to being a very busy wife and mother, Jennifer is a faithful member of our Yahoo Community.  She assists as an administrator, participates in many of our swaps and designs incredible art like this to share!

The luscious Hershey’s Kisses I mean, luscious alcohol ink colors that Jenn selected for this project really got things off to a great start!

Rip up random scraps of cardstock, and stamp a lighter piece of cardstock with peeled paint stamp using Versamark. Dry completely. Rip up pieces of sheet music. Use adhesive to apply the random scraps of paper on the front of the tin. Use adhesive to apply flower pieces randomly. Use glue dots to apply copper charm to the front. Next cut a large circle of O’So Sticky Tape to cover the circle of see-through plastic on the lid of the tin. Peel back paper and apply bead mixture to the top of the lid completely.

Box of Love 3

I can’t think of a better way to “go green” than with this lovely green tin and the use of so many recycled materials!  Way to go Jenn!

Valentine Treat Box √

Julie has been a busy bee coming up with fun ideas for Valentine's Day treats!  This treat box was inspired by a die cut that Julie had seen in a scrapbook store.

IMG_2788

Julie used one of the hearts from our new Valentine Collage Sheets for the top and traced the hex opening from one of the templates (see below) to create the closure.  1/8" O'so Sticky tape was fit around the edge and gold beads used to border the heart.   3/8" O'so Sticky tape was used to cover each of the little petal tabs that fold through the hex opening and they too were covered with gold beads.

My Brian is always happy to help out with templates - it helps him justify the expense of updating is CAD program every year! Ü  Today he whipped this one up just for you!

NEW AND EXCITING!!  There is also an SVG cut file for those using a Cricut with a computer software program.  This is our first of MANY SVG’s to come, so stay tuned!

You may want to print the PDF file as a folding guide when using the SVG cut file.

If you own the Sure Cuts Alot software you can also download the SCAL file!!

All the details and template downloads are available from this page of our website:  http://www.pennywisearts.com/archive2/juliestreatbox.html
